I would go much further although Levin is right - I think we are all missing the point. I wrote this on another thread that died this morning.

Even those who did not read the bill knew what they were voting for - socialism. It was that simple then and it’s that simple now. To boil it all down to technical aspects misses the point of the bill.

It was never about efficient delivery of services - it has always been about government control. Control of 1/6th of our economy and voter control. It is proven that the majority of government workers (likely to include health care providers when it shifts to single payer) vote democrat - win for the rats. On top of that, a large percentage of elderly vote (those needing the most health care) for their own benefits - another win for the rats.

The GOP does not get it. Many of us believe the electorate would change drastically if we pass amnesty because we believe “new Americans” (aka - the poor) will vote for benefits for themselves.

Why do so many miss the same likelihood for Obamacare? It is a dreadful piece of socialist legislation that will turn healthcare into a trip to the DMV - we will be held hostage by rat voting junior bureaucrats and scared voters that vote to maintain whatever health care the government grants them. It is a brilliant scheme to maintain power.

The mystery is why working people support Obamacare. The EBT crowd is understandable.
