Even if you are going to reduce meat and dairy, I’d think more fruits and vegetables would be healthier than more grains/carbs.
Depends on the fruits though. The ‘sweet’ fruits aren’t much better on your blood sugar/insulin response than ordinary desserts. If we’re talking blueberries and other non sweet fruits I’ll agree wholeheartedly.
Funny thing though. My grandmother took one look at the food pyramid and said ‘If you ate this way you’d weigh 300lbs!’. Back when pretty much nobody weighed 300lbs. If only she’d lived a few more years she would have been so shocked!
