They've really put themselves in a box. They allowed Obama to steer the ship for so long, that now that they're in troubled waters, they can't figure out how to change captains. And they no longer trust him to bring them to safe passage.

While a mutiny is unlikely, we might just see the old, salty dog sort of unofficially retired. Expect Bill Clinton to pipe in quite a bit more. He is still the de facto leader of the Democrat Party, and they will rely on him more and more.
