I found this story very interesting.

I understand that governments/people would need access to “fiber” or “Trunk lines” in order to collect data etc.

Making “Off the Shelf” technology available to governments is one thing, I wouldn’t be surprised to find this spying capability find its way into the hands of individuals before long.

Some enterprising hackers would be happy to share their skill sets with an open-source, free-ware program.

Can you imagine the implications if millions of people had the ability to spy on millions of others ?
