“At some point, the public will want a new direction. If the GOP is not prepared for that moment, Obama will push a single payer system and win. It’s that simple.”

The media will soon coalesce on a narrative that reinforces this—”Single payer was impossible because of racism, Republicans etc etc. So they forced us into this inferior system. We can fix all that by doing what we should have done in the first place.”

The mismanagement of the website HealthCare.gov and the cancellation of millions of policies pushes an underlying question out into the open: is the federal government capable of managing the provision of a fundamental service through an extraordinarily complex system?

Next, the Times will examine another important underlying question: can we, in fact, flap our arms and fly to the moon or is the Tea Party somehow sabotaging our efforts to do so?

No he won't. Do you believe the public will be willing to hand their healthcare over to this bunch?

I know many freepers believe this, but I see no evidence the public is clamoring for the Federal Government to run their healthcare. Especially not after how this bunch has screwed it up so badly.

However, I do agree that the GOP needs to push more free market reforms. That will sell to the public way better than a government run system

In addition, the Affordable Care Act can be construed as a transfer of benefits from Medicare, which serves an overwhelmingly white population of the elderly – 77 percent of recipients are white — to Obamacare, which will serve a population that is 54.7 percent minority. Over 10 years, the Affordable Care Act cuts $455 billion from the Medicare budget in order to help pay for Obamacare. Those who think that a critical mass of white voters has moved past its resistance to programs shifting tax dollars and other resources from the middle class to poorer minorities merely need to look at the election of 2010, which demonstrated how readily this resistance can be used politically. The passage of the A.C.A. that year forced such issues to the fore, and Republicans swept the House and state houses across the country. The program’s current difficulties have the clear potential to replay events of 2010 in 2014 and possibly 2016.

Like any good liberal moron, the clueless Edsall assumes that any resistance to Obamacare is because of white racism.

Can some outfit like Amazon sell thousands upon thousands of products, some of which are sold by multiple sellers, in all states, at different prices, some with guarantees, some without, giving reviews and rating for the products; all this to thousands of customers at a single time. Yes.

But outfits like Amazon are into customer satisfaction and run by competent people.

obamacare is law of the land. Deal with it!!

a critical mass of white voters has [not] moved past its resistance to programs shifting tax dollars and other resources from the middle class to poorer minorities

Okrah has final solution for that.

I reject the premise of your argument, and you're too damn sensitive. There is nothing racist about the term buckwheat. Buckwheat was one of the little rascals, and happened to be black. Obama is also a rascal, and happens to be black. Logical analogy, nothing more.

Every damn word is a racial slur according to the left. Get a pair, get a brain, and stop pussy-footing around harmless words and letting the left have total control over dialog.

You’re right, the preferable term is ‘Osambo Administration’.
