It seems to me that the mainstream media will have no choice but to attempt to rehabilitate Obama or at least to rehabilitate the Democrat party for a number of reasons.

First he is the iconic first black president and that image must be held pristine at all costs.

Second, the failure of Obamacare is the failure of big government so some way around the proposition that big government is the problem must be found because the mainstream media is wedded to the proposition that government is the solution.

Third, the media generally believes that the implementation of Obamacare has been a failure but the object, redistribution of wealth and the application of health insurance to all no matter what the cost, is laudable and should be protected.

Fourth, the media viscerally dislikes the Republicans especially their tainted relationship with Christians And the Tea Party and will do everything they can to break the Republican base away and encourage third-party candidates.

The media ain't done yet.

There life long agenda cream of the crop plan is tumbling down from cracks in the house of cards.
Obamacare, no, wait, now it's ACA is what will bring all of them down.
The media will only be able to artificaly hold up this facade for so long until the weight and gravity takes it's natural course and takes it's toll.... unless ? this was the plan all along to get to the one payer system.
