I can not imagine a Democrat uttering those words today.
President Kennedy's inaugural address in Washington D.C. In his speech President Kennedy urges American citizens to participate in public service and "ask not what your country can do for you- ask what you can do for your country." Democrats today will ever utter those words today nor vote to reduce taxes
The only part they accept that is he was weak at foreign policy.
The speech may have had some catchy lines but it was not a great speech. Kennedy stated that we held the power to end poverty for mankind. Christ said the poor are with you always but here was JFK saying that with innovative progressive initiatives (proper liberal programs, foreign aid, the UN) poverty would be a thing of the past worldwide.
He was not a Keynesian. This was his high point.
He had great speech writers.
He was great at rhetorical delivery.
Never did understand what a
Jelly Doughnut is called in Berlin.Passed woman around as if they
were pieces of meat.Had an affair with a Nazi spy in Washington DC
Sent to war in the Pacific.
Abysmal sailor, turned off his engines
in enemy waters.Allowed his ship to be destroyed by an enemy cruiser.
Other than the first item listed
he was a run of the mill Kennedy.
The whole country on any number of issues was more conservative—and sensible—than the Baby Boomer controlled country, so of course Kennedy, and the Democrats were too.
You can bet though, had he lived....JFK would of become as liberal as his brother Ted became.
Liberalism is a progressive wasting disease....
Speechifying is what Dems do.
Obama/Clinton both blatherers that convinced millions how wonderful they were. Both blatherers and both liars.
JFK was way overblown. Weak on communism which encouraged Russia and led to Vietnam.
