A massive cargo plane bound for McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kan., from New York City landed at the wrong airport late Wednesday and is now temporarily stuck there.
The Boeing 747 LCF Dreamlifter took off from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 7:26 p.m. and was cleared to land at McConnell, but instead landed at the much smaller Jabara Airport about 10 miles north.
It's entirely unclear whether the Atlas Air flight landed at Jabara on purpose or by mistake. But audio captured by LiveATC.net suggests the Dreamlifter pilots informed McConnell's tower controller after the plane touched down, and did not realize where they were...

Did JF’nK have anything to do with this stuk thing?
GPS, VOR, ILS, DME and they STILL landed at the wrong airport...............
I hate driving at night in unfamiliar territory.
Anything JFK is a diversion from real news.
Listening to Vicevich this morning, wtic shoves TWO stories every newscast about that murderer Skakel getting another trial. Not one but two separate stories in a 3 minute newscast. Despicable.

Pilot: Man, that runway sure is short!...............
Co-Pilot: Yeah, but look how damn WIDE it is!......................

"Great news, Mr. Client, your Model TCV15 Behemoth has landed."
"But, uh, it's ten miles from where it's supposed to be."
Well, Wichita does have more airports per capita than any other American city. Still, I’ve never heard of a plane landing a the wrong one before.
The software for the navigation system recieved upgraded from the same team that designed the Obamacare website and the Canadian Long Gun Registry. Just a guess.
Major LOL!
“When fully loaded, the Dreamlifter needs a runway 9,199 feet long to take off, CNN said. The Jabara runway is 6,101 feet.”
They’re either going to need to unload it or wait for a very hard freeze.
Just announced on CNBC that the runway at the airport where the plane landed is long enough for 747 to takeoff. Also this happens more frequently than you may think.
I feel much better now.

Why Boeing? It was Atlas Air.
IMO as I have stated on previous posts, yahoo passes no opportunity to bash Boeing.
When I lived in the Seattle area I was on I-405, south of renton and I saw an airliner lining up to land at Renton field (where they make 737’s and only small aircraft land there.
I thought it was odd. And as I am thinking that the plane sudenly takes a hard left turn and I could see it was lining up for Boeing field, which made more sense. ;-)
