President Vladimir Putin, who has come under international criticism for a law banning "gay propaganda", said on Wednesday that Russians must not "create a torrent of hatred towards anyone" including homosexuals.
The remarks may be aimed at easing concerns about the treatment of gays in Russia ahead of the Sochi Winter Olympics which some activists have said should be boycotted in protest against the law.
Putin has staked personal political prestige on staging a successful Games and made a point of telling a Olympic delegation last month that gays would be welcome at Sochi.
At a meeting with leaders of junior political parties on Wednesday, Putin defended the law, saying it was meant to protect young people, but he added that hatred towards gays was unacceptable.
"You know how much criticism I had to listen to, but all we did on the government and legislative level, to do with limiting (gay) propaganda among minors," Putin said.
"In the meantime we should not create a torrent of hatred towards anyone in society, including people of non-traditional sexual orientation."

My guess is homos will go there during the Olympics and dress like they do in parades half naked and they will hold gatherings and I hope he arrests them. That is the sort of thing they outlawed. Good for them. If homos would behave like other people, no one would know or care what their sex life is, but they don’t want it that way. They want you to see it in all it’s disgusting splendor.

I find it hard to believe Putin has bought into the homosexual "heads I win, tails you lose" narrative.
I have always found it interesting that homosexuals have been able to get away with posing their sexual behaviors are a function of who they are, yet their pathological hatred and aggressiveness toward those withholding approval of their demographic is not.
If it is reasonable to assert one can not contain ones sexual behaviors due to some innate physiological difference, why is it unreasonable to assert their are other, more destructive, behaviors that are similarly irresistible for the same reason that have only been held in check throughout the history of man by fear of societal retribution?

Homophobia is a BS word. And I guarantee that Putin didn’t use it.
