Anyone with a conscience should be offended by the greatest generational theft ever witnessed in the history of the world. Young Americansespecially the Millennial generation born between 1977 and 1995are the biggest losers in this battle, but it will adversely affect their children and grandchildren to boot. Obamacare simply represents the latest front in this war, which now rages from Social Security to Medicare to this deeply flawed law that is imploding as we speak.
Lets be clear: by design, this law can work if and only if enough young people are willing to pay premiums far higher than are actuarially fair in order to subsidize workers my age who on average earn far more than the young workers who are subsidizing them. Even if one takes into account that Millennials in the long run eventually will become old themselves and benefit from these subsidies, Obamacare still is an extraordinarily bad deal that effectively would force todays 18-year olds to pay 18 percent more for their medical care over a lifetime than if each generation paid its own way. Such an age-related tax is unconscionable. Imagine if sales taxes or income taxes included a surcharge for everyone who happened to be a twenty-something. If this idea sounds preposterous, welcome to Obamacare.

Millennials haven’t got the bill, had to pay the deductible, got fined by the IRS, had property confiscated for not paying the fine, put in jail for the 3rd emergency room visit with no health insurance...let alone figured out they’ve lost opportunities to build wealth the past American way, by having a job. Thank a Democrat!
I’ll hazard to guess that many of them aren’t employed anyway, and will not enroll in any insurance plan simply because they can’t afford to pay the premiums.
“Yeah, they dont know, yet . . . and even if they did, pride wont let them do anything otherwise.”
They have no pride; they’ve been raised to be ashamed of those that built the great country they were born in. When I see tatted and pierced young people today, I see no indication that they believe they have any more value than a stray dog in the street.
Bingo.
Every one of the 23 (and counting) comments so far contain a slice of the truth. Self-absorbed, narcissistic, generally unfocussed to the point of being shiftless, the millennials don’t care - and don’t care that they don’t care.
Øbozos grand gamble relied on them buying into the scam in order to finance the fraud, but they’re not anteing up. Only the freeloaders have signed on. A whole nation of freeloaders.
We’re doomed.
Yes value, learn the value of your own life, and you learn to respect others too.
How many are really affected?
1) how many are “26ers”
2) how many are in such lame jobs they can get “free” medicaid or heavily subsidized Obamacare?
3) ones actually working for companies with decent benefits aren’t affected until next year.
Any others see it this way?
“Yes value, learn the value of your own life, and you learn to respect others too.”
I wish they had more pride in their ancestors and their traditions; I can’t believe the number of younger women who give it away for nothing, co-habitating with no expectation of marriage or children (while whining to any who will listen that they want both). I can’t believe the number of young men who have been so cowed into a submissiveness, as though they deserve nothing for hard work or studies because they are white...
“They still believe the rich are going to pay for it.”
My regret is that I probably won’t be around to see them reap the whirlwind...
Because they’re only 12 or 13 years old (depending on when you think the new millennium started, in 2000 or 2001. 2001, me thinks)
“They still believe the rich are going to pay for it.”
You are exactly correct. I watched one of the popular (with young people) “comedy” news shows the other night. Every joke was based on Marxist assumptions about reality, interspersed with lies.
If that is what they believe reality is, they do not have to worry. There is enormous wealth out there, being hidden by all the fat cats. All they have to do is vote to take it.
“They still believe the rich are going to pay for it.”
Probably; in any case by the time 2014 comes around the media will convince them that evil businesses conspired against them (rather than a communist Democratic Party). It worked in 2012, where so many people wouldn’t hold Obama responsible for their misery. I hope the Repubs can make some serious gains from the ObamaCare debacle, but I suspect that the effect will be muted by the media running interference for him (again). They’ll blame a million other factors, but it won’t touch him...
The idiot author obviously forgot that most millennial s are still on their parents plan. Probably most haven’t even bothered to look at the site.
I think the term Millennials refers to people who came of age around the time of the turn of the millennium to about ten years after. So people who were 18 in year 2000 (born in 1982) to people born around 1990.
It’s defined in the excerpt, 77 to 95 dob.
I know, just jivin’! An arbitrary (nonsensical, I think) euphemism, like all the others!
In all fairness, why aren’t boomers marching in the streets? Obamacare is fixin’ to kill us.
We may as well go out with a bang....I could be saying literally in light of the police state that has been ramped up.
obamacare? Like, whatever.

A Forbes writer bestowing Socialism.
that constitution thing was written by some old white guys named Roe or Wade that said you can have an abortion. It also keeps Obama from giving us more free stuff that he pays for from his stash he takes from rich people.
