In the crucial swing state of Florida, former Gov. Jeb Bush appears to be the top contender among a crop of potential GOP presidential candidates, while former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the overwhelming favorite for Democratic voters, according to a new poll.

The Quinnipiac University survey also indicates that if the two were to square off in an election held today, Clinton would barely edge out Bush, 47%-45%.

The 2-point margin falls well within the poll's sampling error.

Released Friday, the poll shows Bush would top a GOP primary race in the state at 22%, with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio slightly behind at 18%, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 14%, and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas at 12%.

No other Republican candidate would get more than 9%, with 12% undecided, according to the poll.

Sure, Clinton would “barely edge out Bush,” thanks to all the illegals and welfare takers, who vote Democrat so they can get their free stuff. But why would the rest of us want to back another GOP loser?

After this week’s lay-down in the senate, I’m not sure why I should vote for any Repub.

For anything.

Oh so we are back to only believing the polls we agree with. Worked real well in 2012 didn’t it. You guys kill me with you arrogance. You caused us to lose the election because you refused to believe the polls showing Obama winning which caused voters to feel comfortable. What idiots!!!!

I agree. Those are both very much Establishment favorites, and if they can get Jeb in as well, they’ll control the entire process as they did with McCain.

I have voted for a Bush four times at the top of the ticket (’88, ‘92, ‘00, ‘04). Not doing it again.

Well, he may not be a favorite with you, but he’s polling well with other Republicans. I don’t think he’ll get it, simply because of his name, unless perhaps he’s the VP on the ticket.

I like Rubio a lot, and he did come in second, but I don’t think he has the national recognition.

Christie, forget it.

No Jeb!--no more shrubs--clear the land.

No Hills--been over that one already and it is just a bump in the road. Get the bulldozer and roll over it!l

No Christies! Just another New England Dem lite. Starve him out of the Presidency.

I'm easy. I'll vote for him if he gets me into Bohemian Grove. I could use a booze and laugh filled vacation. How's the fishing?
