US criticizes new China zone, vows to defend Japan

Geneva (AFP) - The United States said Saturday it was "deeply concerned" and committed to defending Japan after China announced an air zone in the East China Sea that includes disputed islands.

In a move that US ally Japan branded as "very dangerous," China said it was setting up the "air defense identification zone" over the islands administered by Tokyo to "guard against potential air threats."

Hagel reiterated that the Japanese-administered Senkaku islands -- which the Chinese claim and call the Diaoyu -- fell under the US-Japan security treaty, meaning that Washington would defend its ally Tokyo if the area is attacked.

"We are in close consultation with our allies and partners in the region, including Japan. We remain steadfast in our commitments to our allies and partners," Hagel said.

The defense chief made clear that the United States, which stations more than 70,000 troops in Japan and South Korea, would not respect China's declaration of control over the zone.

So...hey, I've finally met another Chicom boycotter...lol.

So, is this another RED LINE for the wimp?

I need a new refrigerator. My last two GEs didn’t last 5 years. My Samsung makes noises like an old man after Thanksgiving dinner. Can you recommend a good American brand that will last until I retire in 12 years? I don’t care if it is energy efficient. I just want cold beer and no gurgling.

Excuse me please, but I was born before Pearl Harbor and WW2, in which my dad spent 3 years in the South Pacific. JAPAN is one of our “Allies”? Since when?

I hope obama doesn’t say the following to Japan:

“If you like your islands, you can keep your islands.”

Japan needs to test this zone as soon as possible, flood the area with surface ships and have constant fly-bys. Japan need to see how the U.S. will react as much as the Chinese. And they need to do this quickly before the Chinese become entrench or the Japanese will lose the claim by inaction.

Dear Japan,

The Hussein administration is telling you that if you like your airspace, you can keep it. Period.

Do NOT trust them.

Sincerely,
Ben

I’m sure Japan has the utmost confidence in Hagel’s words and the honesty of our President. I sure don’t.

The Japanese better prepare to go up against China, on their own. They better prepare fast too. The Chi-coms will continue poke and prod with the end of their bayonette until they hit some hard steel. The Japanese better prepare to show the steel.

To: Zhang Fei; All

Slap huge tariffs on the Communist Chinese...and you control the deal

If it wasn’t for the Free Trade Communists who push free Trade with Communist China...we would have a much sounder policy towards Communist China

Heck...I remember when you were EXECUTED for TREASON when you economically supported a Communist enemy

As long as we continue Free Trade Communism and Free Trade with Communist China...we will never be able to deal with Communist China from a position of strength
