So it rains 3 of 4 days on average?

It would depress the hell out of me.

I wouldn’t say it rains 3 out of 4 days. I will say that it is often gray/cloudy in the winter; and, it rains more in the winter. Having grown up (as much as I will) in Denver, I always say - - at least I don’t have to shovel rain ;-)

We get teased about rain a lot - - it’s a rumor we spread to keep Californians from moving up here (we’ve been infiltrated by them for many years).

When we went to NY for a wedding several years ago, my stepfather told his sister the average rainfall on Long Island is more than Seattle.

All that said, it does rain here. But the temperatures are fairly mild and the Springs, Summers and Falls are really beautiful!

I believe you’re referring to an Ohio State - Michigan State game back in 1970s. Duffy Daugherty and Woody Hayes. No one knew whether Buckeye Fullback Champ Henson crossed the goal line or not (he officially didn’t). MSU “won”

It's probably a good thing for Obama that the website has been a disaster. Based on the panels I have been surfing through, it sounds like China, Afghanistan and Iran are all trying to pants the boy king and take his lunch money, and if the website was not broken the talk shows would have to talk about foreign problems instead.

The general take-away from all of the discussion is that the United States is sliding from major world power to irrelevant debtor nation. If it wasn't for all of the obsolete but potent nuclear weapons we could be completely disregarded.

The 270 days was what a native told me. Here's what comes from usclimatedata.com - Days per year with precipitation: 152 days. So that is 5 out of 12.

What is not counted in there is the days when it "Seattles"; a VERY light mist that looks and feels like rain and goes on all day, but does not get measurable. Pick your expert, pick your statistic.

Now wait just a minute! Alabama is NOT a big, bad wolf! They are the TIDE! The Crimson Tide, representing the Hallowed Halls of Bear Bryant.

The fight was a glorious struggle of two mighty TITANS slugging it out until the FINAL second. All glory and honor are on BOTH teams!

Ohio and Florida might be happy due to the outcome of one game, but Alabama is THE college football state! We’re not done by a longshot.

Well Bernard, as someone who served for 22 years, and still goes on base often, with plenty of shooting the $h!t in the Club, I can say it will be a long time before anyone can kick our @$$ militarily. We still are the best in the world.

I'm not just saying that; it is patently true. Our professionals in the military—from private all the way up to Generals and Admirals—with the vastly superior NCO corps we have in every service, are in a class of their own.

Now, is Obama and the democrats screwing them? Does a bear poop in the woods?

Still, we are on a downward spiral. I was in during the Ford, Carter, Reagan, GHW Bush, and Clinton eras. Carter hurt us BAD, but Reagan turned it all around. I saw how to rebuild our military. The ones that did that can do it again. That's my prayer. My nightmare is that Hillary! follows Obama. By the end of THAT, we WILL be disregard-able!

Is that quaking I sense? Wait til Missouri takes care of the War Eagle in the Georgia Dome this coming Saturday.

SEC would have been wise to keep out Mizzou and the Aggies - the newcomers have unmasked the ole boys club.

Go Buckeyes!

Keep dreaming. Go Buckeyes (by having better teams than the Buckeyes lose to other better teams than the Buckeyes)!

If you don't mind the (now) grey hairs, just sound the call and I'll be there.

...still got a few good fights left.

I didn’t know you were single SC.

Maybe in 2014. But you make a point. This guy is the lawyer for the county. He wrote a book about Sussex county. He is my granddaughter’s teacher’s father....gotta laff at that....everyone in Sussex county Delaware is but one person removed from someone else.

More than anything, dag I’d love to get the scoop on all things political in this county and I am quite sure he has it.

He and I locked horns over my property claim though I beat him down like a wet mule....in public and everything.

“Mrs. Fish, taking legal action does not necessarily mean the county will tear down your fence,” he said to me in public.

I interrupted. “Maybe not to the letter of the expression,” I shouted, in public....it’s all on record. “But that’s the first thing people think when told the gubmint’s taking legal action for my fence. Do not confuse these people with details,” I said, pointing to the gallery. “They know what taking legal action could lead to, they are not stupid.”

Well yeah, heh, it was great.

Anyway, we’ll see. Maybe in 2014.

By the way, the Lord has come to me and I know my mission in life.

Y’all might take a guess if you like but even if you have NO idea....you will all find out soon enough.

The Pope is a typical modern Socialist. No different than any other Pope on economic issues. The Catholic Church is a lost cause on economics.

My hope is that the conservative Catholics in the USA (Dead White Europeans) reduce the amount of $ in their weekly contributions. In my parish, the Nigerians and the Mexicans, even the financially successful do not contribute near the same rate as the DWEs.

We do send messages to the Church Hierarchy every so often. And we do have very good priests every so often who make up the Church failures.

I might not be the Lord but I would like to see you take on and BEAT Chris Coons for his Senate seat!

If I have to I will fly/drive/walk to Delaware and vote for you as often as I can—you have my support!!!

Forget Christine... Go Pat go!

I am very distraught about the Pope, Bray.

It is suggested that he was misquoted but nothing I’ve read gives any different interpretation of his ill-gotten words than an attack on capitalism....what a silly, silly thing to attack.

He does not have my respect but I’ve got an open mind and await an apology.

Speaking of apologies.....I was at choir practice last Thursday. Had my granddaughter with me. We are allowed to bring children so long as a parent or grandparent is there, I don’t normally take Kaitlyn but her mother was in the hospital and her father wanted to go visit.

Another choir member, a fellow I consider a pretty good friend, was griping about....well I dunno if Kaitlyn or the other kid but he was getting big and bad on my nerves.

So I raise my hand to ask a musical question, very appropriate and polite like. Grouchy guy puts his finger to his lips....says “sssshhhh”...”take it easy”.

I have no idea but that was my last straw so I began packing music and commanded Kaitlyn to come on, we’re going home.

So I’m stuck in choir practice back in this little corner and with all my ire...I COULDN’T GET THE HELL OUT!

So I sat down and did not sing another note and just fumed.

After prayers and thought I decided, the hell with it, I am not letting this guy ruin my day and next choir practice I was delightful.

Like the books says, I want to be the best person God helps me to be.

Today, after mass, grouchy fellow summons me to his side. He is CRYING, SOBBING.

I just took him in my arms....he was just so full of angst.

“Your friendship means the world to me,” he sobbed, tears streaming. “I want to apologize for being a jerk the other night.”

I told him he wasn’t losing my friendship that easy....goodness I still tear up at how grief-stricken this guy was.

Well I love him and I know....I’m a sinner too.

God is leading me on to my next mission. You all will know me, even though many of you already do.

And men?

Heh.

They’re like a bus. You miss one, another one comes right along.

You should insert smile here.

Ah AB.

In a way you are close to my mission. Not hot....but lukewarm.

God has a plan for me and He leads my way.

Is it a high deductible plan? Did God get it off the site?

Hey, any port in the storm. Call it “backing in”. But..

AP poll is out. Ohio State is #2 although Auburn got 2 first place votes (Florida State got 58 #1 place votes).

The ACC is weaker than Big Ten IMHO, but they run the tables and are awarded #1 status.

Ohio State has not lost a game in 2 years! 24 straight wins. They started off the season ranked #2 behind Alabama with one first place vote. Then Oregon went to #2 (and lost), then Clemson (and lost), then Florida State (who hasn’t played anyone before or since).

Fla St started the year ranked #11.

Auburn was not ranked in all the top 25 teams nor the other 18 teams who received votes (38)

After awhile it looks like it is ABB (Anybody but the Buckeyes). Geesh.
