I was on the marksmanship/rifle team in HS back in ‘80-’81, ‘82...

We used to be able to go to the instructors locker, get the precision rifles (.22 LR’s, XP-??? somethings, I forget exactly), put them in our POV’s and carpool to another HS that had a portable building setup as a range for us to practice...After school of course...

If we ran late, we took the rifles home, and brought them back to school the next day, and locked them up...

No big deal...

ALL firearm safety procedures were followed to a “T”...No one ever worried about our activity, only if we were doing well enough to compete, which we did...

One of my sisters is 5 years older than me. Her senior year in high school, she along with two other seniors and another boy from a different high school were New Jersey Jr. Indoor rifle team champions. That year there was a picture in her year book showing the team with full gear.

The next year My younger brother and I and two other kids from different schools were NJ sub-junior team champions. When I was a freshman, my brother was in 8th grade and the other two team members went to different high schools but the year-book printed a photo of us also.

When I was in 8th grade, i had a paper route and was “carrier of the month”. The photo about this award had me in my competition gear with my Anshultz Match 64,that photo was posted on the wall of my science class for 6 months.

Seriously? Lighten up, finnegan - people have different opinions. Especially when it concerns a kid’s life and potential death.

It’s called a “Discussion Forum” for a reason.

Amen.

I think there’s a pretty darn good reason to kill this kid.

Wow...guess the concept of innocent until proven guilty is a foreign one to you...
