The White House clarified Thursday that President Barack Obama did live with his Kenyan uncle in Cambridge, Massachusetts for a "brief period of time" before attending Harvard Law School in the 1980s after previously saying there was no record of the two ever meeting.
The clarification comes amid GOP criticism over the issue of Obama’s honesty and trustworthiness, two personal traits the president has taken a hit on in recent polls.

Onyango Okech Obama, President Obama's uncle, was granted permission Tuesday by a federal immigration judge to stay in the United States, where he has lived illegally for the past five decades. In his testimony before the judge, Obama's uncle mentioned that then-student Obama had stayed with him for three weeks after he was accepted into law school.
The White House was asked about their relationship in 2011 at which time the administration said there was no record of the President and Onyango Okech Obama having ever met. Carney retracted that information Thursday saying that the President himself had never been consulted about their relationship.

Vague and sketchy details must mean there is something he doesn’t want to reveal. Just how brief? A week? 6 months? 3 years?
Obama has the inability to tell the truth. Obama has been trained to be a professional liar - attorney. he has only contempt for the law.
Well, lying seems to work very well for him. So any change for the better seems unlikely anytime soon.

The real problem is not figuring out when he is lying but when he is telling the truth...
The man can’t open his mouth without a lie coming out. Lying is his essence, his nature, his very being. He even lies about his name. He has lied so much he has lost his ability to distinguish between what is real and what is not real.

If you tell the truth the first time, there is no need to “clarify” something.
