I think the hate the two have can be traced to their formative years and how each of them handled them. Both Obama and Rangel are products of fathers who abandoned their families when both were very young. That is were the similarity ends. Obama ever since has pined for the father who abandoned him. Just the title of his book, “Dreams of My Father” proves it. The guy craves acceptance by the dirtbag who left him and his mother in the lurch. Rangel on the other hand had a different reaction. Rangel’s father was Puerto Rican. Till this day Rangel has never used his Hispanic background for political purposes. He even refuses to use Spanish in his campaign speeches. Even though it would help him, he refuses to. He has obliterated all memory of his father. Itstead of “Dreams of My Father”, Rangel’s book would be “My Father, You’re Dead to Me.” Thus Rangel has no respect for Obama as a man. It it is on a visceral level.
Rangel also served on the front lines in Korea and was wounded in combat. How many LimpRichards in both parties have I seen that would never get near military service unless they were ordered to (and then would find a way to weasel out of combat).
