Democratic Party has no more centrists
NY Post ^ | 12/08/13 | Michael Goodwin

**SNIP**

Remaining intra-party fights only concern how extreme the shift will be, as new militants push the Dems closer to pure socialism. Conviction politicians like Obama and de Blasio have no real interest in compromise. Look at the battle between Mass. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton.

To most sane people, Clinton no longer qualifies as a centrist. Five years ago, her muscular talk on foreign policy made her allies with Robert Gates and John McCain. But her role as front lady for the Obama appease-niks turned her muscles into fat and her policy into mush.

Yet Clinton is insufficiently committed to the movement, according to the Warren cult. And so true believers are pushing St. Elizabeth, she of the Cherokee cheekbones, to run against St. Hillary for the party mantle in 2016.

Another indicator is that the Rev. Al Sharpton is the Dems’ new Martin Luther King Jr. Talk about a decline in standards.

Oh, my.

I think Zell Miller was the last of the democrat centrists.
Of course you’ll never hear a word about him again.

The purists have taken over the party of the Left, but they scream like stuck pigs when TEA Party folks make advances in the GOP.

Mmmm Hmmm.

Depends on the month.

The entire party are “centrists” in even-year Octobers and 1st week November.

Progressives Marxists Communists all other times.

Nope, no centerists. The sort of vetting and winnowing they did to the party in the last 40 years or so precludes any centerists.

They are presently so vetting and winnowing the military hierarchy.

I think Zell Miller was the last of the democrat centrists. Yes, he was a fine man while in office, in the days that you could claim to be conservative in that Party. However, if he STILL claims any affiliation with the current Demonic-rat Party, he'll have some serious explaining to do at the Last Day.

The Democrats don’t allow centrists or moderates in their ranks. You’re either fully on board with the hard left, or you’re a traitor to ‘the cause’. You won’t find a single moderate, or (heaven forbid!) conservative in the ranks of their elected reps.

Our side, on the other hand, is filthy with moderates and liberals, both in and out of elected office.

Hey you dummies at the NY Post: there is no such thing as a Democratic Party. I know, I know, you all attended a Journalism school so you write better than an old engineer.

A Republican is someone who is a member of the Republican Party.

A Democrat is someone who is a member of the Democrat (not Democratic!!!) Party and never has been.

There is no such animal as the Democratic Party.

Zell Miller of Georgia and John Breaux of Louisiana were the last Democrat centrists. Even Joe Lieberman dipped his toe into centrism on occasion.

I think Zell Miller was the last of the democrat centrists.

Long before that was Martin Dies D-TX who opposed FDR's Raw Deal and paved the way for Senator Joe McCarthy to bravely (and as it turns out, rightly) fight communism. Likewise James Eastland D-MS was not so bad since he supported Nixon during the trumped up Watergate "scandal" and was strongly against commie fifth columnists.

Let us not forget that even Ronaldus Magnus was once a Democrat, until that party left him.
