Jerusalem - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided not to attend a memorial service for Nelson Mandela this week because it is too expensive to travel to South Africa, Israeli media reported on Sunday. Netanyahu had notified the South African authorities that he would fly in but cancelled his plans at the last minute due to the costs involved -- around 7.0 million shekels ($2 million) for his transport and security alone, pubic radio and the Haaretz daily reported. "The decision was made in light of the high transportation costs resulting from the short notice of the trip and the security required for the prime minister

Maybe he’s going to send the IAF to bomb the funeral?

Obama would never do anything that would actually save the taxpayers money.

Well, Mandela made no secret of backing the Palestinian terrorists against Israel.

Netanyahu knows he’d offend a ton of people if he said so. But I’m glad he’s not going.

Can you blame him? He would be less popular than a black man at a KKK convention. Remember? Israel, with friends too few and far between did what he had to do, found a willing friend to befriend and visa versa. South Africa, having incarcerated Mandela would not, today, be a welcome place for Netanyahu. When you talk cost, you’ve got to include the security considrations for Netanyahu which would be considerable.

Mandela supported Israel's right to exist. He also thought the Palestinians and other Arab terrorist groups were nuts because they were intransigent on this issue. Stop being so reactionary that you invent "facts" to support what you think ought to exist. Doing that you come full circle and join the fantasy world view of the Left.

He knows Mandela supported the people who deny Israel’s right to exist?

From the posted release: “...for his transport and security alone, pubic radio and the Haaretz daily reported.”

“pubic radio”? Twelve posts and no one mentions this error? You’re slipping.
