Certainly not the worst moment ever in science fiction. [Sadly, all too typical.] Well, it is filmed science fiction, which certainly has lower standards than written sf when it comes to the "science" part.
And in any case, episodes I through III are far, far worse!

episodes I through III are far, far worse! Big time. I wish George Lucas had never made them. I think they took something away from the original trilogy of films. My kids like them, but I think they might as well be a different movie.
