I’m doing way better! Hubby hurt his back, though. Trying to
get him to do something about it is....well....normal I guess for a guy! He’s in a lot of pain. :(

So glad you’ll head east. Hope you have good travel weather! :)

Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...were you able to commute this morning?

It was icy this morning, but not too bad as most everyone was behaving, except foe the guy who laid on his horn when I stopped, red light ahead, to let a line of folks turn left in front of me. He needed to be beaten about the head. After all the guys turned left and I proceeded ahead, the line of cars in front of me were still not moving. The guy tailgated me most of the way to work. I like going slow in icy conditions. LOL!

Good evening, Kathy!

*HUGS*

Easy commutes in both directions. I waited until 9:00 a.m. to sally forth - much less ice by that time. The traffic was very light this evening - made it home in under an hour, notwithstanding that I was driving gently.

Tomorrow is another matter. Snow is expected to start around 3:00 a.m. and to persist into the afternoon. Four to six inches, which is enough to paralyze this region of transients. If it's bad, I'll stay home.

There’s a good trick for working on backs. After you loosen it up with massage, apply your hands to both sides of his spine like side by side karate chops. Then slowly do a pushup from the knees, applying more pressure. Equal pressure on both sides will sometimes align a bad back, you may hear loud popping sounds, but it should feel like relief. Go from between the shoulder blades all the way down, and don’t be afraid to apply more pressure when you get close to the tail...those vertebrae are not easily convinced.

Not a medical opinion, just an amateur back crackin’ masseur in my off hours, haven’t crippled anyone yet ;)

BAND OF BROTHERS

WORLD WAR II

Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles"
June 7, 1944 at Ste.Marie du Mont, France

"THIS DAY IS CALL'D the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say, "To-morrow is Saint Crispian."
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say, "These wounds I had on Crispin's day."

KOREA

Marines of the "Chosin Few", 1st Marine Division
Chosin Reservoir, Korea, December 1950

"OLD MEN FORGET; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words,
Harry the King, Bedford, and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered."

VIETNAM

FMF Corpsman D. R. Howe treats the wounds of Pfc. D. A. Crum, USMC
"H" Company, 2nd Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment, during Operation Hue City.

"WE FEW, WE HAPPY FEW, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

AFGHANISTAN

Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division in action, Afghanistan, 2011

OUR NATIONAL MEMORIALS
October 2013

"ONCE MORE unto the breach, dear friends, once more,
Or close the wall up with our English dead.
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let it pry through the portage of the head
Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it
As fearfully as does a galled rock
O'erhang and jutty his confounded base,
Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean."

(Henry V, Act IV, Scene iii)

THE STRUGGLE AGAINST TYRANNY GOES ON,
AS IT HAS FROM TIMES IMMEMORIAL.
THE BAND OF BROTHERS
STILL STANDS FAST IN THE BREACH!

THEY HAVE OUR SIX!

Honor Them For Their Service And Sacrifice!

Thanks for this. I might just try it. Thing is, I had rotator cuff surgery recently and not sure how effective my “push ups” would be.
