Ben Affleck is smart enough to know an actor taking up political causes can shatter the illusion movies are meant to conjure.
Yet the Argo director and avowed liberal still sticks his foot in his mouth during a new interview with Playboy Magazine by insulting half of his audience.
Seems he's not sure he can be friends with anyone who pulls the lever repeatedly for GOP politicians.
The future Dark Knight (Affleck plays Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel) said he can't help but consider an actor's politics while watching movies, and he takes that information to heart.
When I watch a guy [on screen] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him, or we would have different opinions. That shit fogs the mind when you should be paying attention and be swept into the illusion.
Affleck isn't alone in his lack of tolerance. Singer Katy Perry went so far as to not invite her parents to President Barack Obama's inauguration because they dared to call themselves Republican.

I can tell you this , I probably will not like or be interested in being a friend to someone if I know they vote Democrat . To me , now days , Democrat voter equates with being un-American , deceitful , inclined to excusing any degree of lies or subversion , as long as it advances their Party’s goals . Democrat is not what it used to be. It has been hijacked by Alinsky Communists and those that fail to see that are simply in denial . Those that do see that and retain their affiliation are committing treason and I hold them in utter contempt
And what is an “Affleck”?Isn’t that some sore of avian creature that peddles insurance?

Ben Affleck can’t act worth a flip so I won’t be missing anything by avoiding his movies and his lectures! All I see is a liberal dumb*ss when I look at him whether in real life or his pretend life.
Big deal! I wouldn’t stop on the sidewalk to say hello to Affleck, or any other fascist Democrat. I don’t mind watching celebrities perform their craft, and there are actors who are genuinely smart and talented people, who work hard at what they do, and some of them are good people, but there are few of them I would want to befriend, or waste time getting to know.
..and I’m pretty sure, without thinking about it too much, that I probably wouldn’t like him very much either.
I tend to like people who have spent time doing something worthwhile, sacrificing and risking their lives for the safety and betterment of their country, rather than on overpaid playactor.
What a stupid thing to say!
