It does look like the Republicans might me fighting back. Yesterday Reid try to pass a list of “noncontroversial” appointments (these are usually minor appointments to diplomatic posts and the like typically sail through on a simple “unanimous consent” voice vote). The Republican leader objected so now every one of these nominees will have to go through the entire long, arduous committee approval process. If the Republicans do this on EVERY single nominee, within a couple months the entire Sentate will slow to a crawl...
