Great article on the blog today regarding saving money as a self-pay patient if you have to go to the ER. I have the blog on a feed so I’m getting all his posts.
I wonder if a whole raft of these mutual aid societies will be cropping up.
What I don’t understand is why existing mutual insurance and mutual aid organizations don’t qualify for the exemption.

Actually, these have been around for a while now, but they are non-profits. Maybe that’s why they’re exempt.

Even better would be giant mega medical complexes with associated health care insurance polices! They could even probably contract with local medical providers. Policies wouldn’t be compliant, but so what? Buy one and refuse to pay the fine.
the government is spending $14,000 FOR EACH person to enrole in obamacare. EACH PERSON just to enrole. This does not count the cost of running Obamacare.
They could just GIVE 14k to each person and each one could buy a platinum plan.
My monthly share is $347.00 with a $10,000 deductible for a family of 4. My old policy (canceled) was $670.00 per month and the new policy if I stayed with Blue Cross and went with similar benefits would have been $1,250.00 per month.
What I did with the monthly savings of $323.00 (canceled policy $670 - new policy $347 = $323.00) was hire a Concierge Doctor for $3,600.00 for all four of us. Included in the Doctor's fee is annual physicals, all annual tests, stress tests, ekg's, free consultations, guaranteed appointments no later than the next day and the doctor's cell phone for 24 hour access with home visits in emergencies.
I couldn't be happier. My monthly share to Medi-Share goes to help fellow Christians. I don't pay for things I think are wrong. I have a large deductible, which I prefer because I'm really only concerned about catastrophic events. I don't contribute to the obamacare system that is destroying healthcare and the country.
Just one thing to add, I doubt it will be very long before the IRS starts targeting any tax return that is not in compliance with obamacare, that's what the 10,000 new agents are for.
We don't live in a free country anymore. The govt is very aggressively trying to destroy anyone who is an opponent of their control over us.
Here’s hoping Obamacare does for the IRS what Little Big Horn did for Custer.

I'm praying there is a seachange in this country. Personal liberty requires individual responsibility, including living with consequences of bad decisions.
I will admit I'm hedging my bets. I've changed my business over the last 4 years and have begun investing outside the USA.
Our family too is counting on sharing ministries if we lose our insurance. But the thing I’m afraid of is.... even having Samaritan Ministries, the doctor shortage will still happen.
