Pretty pathetic attempt at posturing. Trying to save his seat in the Senate, eh?

The gobbler must be getting some terrible internal polling results to be feigning conservatism this far before elections.

“Mitch hurries to look conservative.”
Mitch to Tea Party: “See, guys, I’m one of you. Honest.” So he votes No, knowing full well it’ll pass just the same.
To: SeekAndFind
It means he’s already found someone to trade his vote with.

So, pretty much a meaningless vote. The Democrats will pass it or turn it down, no input from Senate Republicans either way.
Mitch may just as well be phoning it in....

I suspect it’s “his turn” to have the right to cast a “conservative vote.” If the outcome hinged on his vote, I doubt he’d reject the Ryan/Murray budget.

I hate freaking politicians! During election year, they’ll always vote the “right way” when they know there’s enough votes going the way they like.
Then, next election cycle, it’s someone else’s turn to vote the right way, and the other ones to give us the finger.

Yes, pure posturing. He knows damned well that his vote is meaningless. What counted was that he neglected to use his leadership position to block the deal in the first place.

Sounds like FReepers are not being swayed by this maneuver.

McConnnell was planning on using the sequester in the primary. He could say that it was his idea, and it’s the only time anybody’s gotten any real budget cuts, whereas the TEA Party didn’t get anything concrete accomplished. Now it’s moot. He probably is pissed about it.
