Everybody talks about companies offshoring because of labor costs. Labor is only one element of a complex decision process. Other elements are the EPA, OSHA, complex and contradictory labor laws, a broken tort system, unlimited and unexpected liabilities and regulatory compliance costs; just to name a few.

It is the perfect storm of these when added to labor costs that drive offshoring. (And, living in our socialist paradise requires a lot of money. So, labor costs are reflecting the overall socialist burden placed on us all.)

I agree that we need to water those “seeds” with lower taxes, less onerous regulations, more right-to-work states and an incentive to repatriate profits made overseas that have been kept there due to double taxation if they are brought back home.
