Keep the sequester for a start.
I agree, but that is a tactic, not a principle. And, fortunately, Obama and the Dems are most likely stuck with the sequester for the foreseeable future unless the Republicans trade it away for increased defense spending. We need a stronger, smarter military but not necessarily more defense spending. As someone who worked for a defense contractor, and was a consultant to the DoD, I understand the massive waste inherent in an outdated force structure, foolish procurement policies, and the like.
