The Michigan Education Association is going to arbitration to try to force the West Branch-Rose City school district to pay a former teacher who was convicted of molesting a student a $10,000 severance buyout.
The father of the victim is outraged, calling the union’s efforts on behalf of the sex criminal “ludicrous” and saying any school money due to the teacher should go to his son, who is “out there trying to make it in this world all messed up.”
Neal Erickson, a former math teacher at Rose City Middle School, was convicted this summer of raping a young student over three years, from 2006 to 2009, and sentenced to 15-30 years in prison.
The case sparked community outrage when several of the district’s teachers wrote letters of support for Erickson, pleading for a lenient sentence. A school board member, Mike Eagan, also drew the public’s ire when he sat with the Erickson family at the pedophile’s sentencing.

I’m sure the union will take a sizable cut. After all their molester is of no further use to them.
And unions wonder why they have so few members and why no one wants to join unions any more. What a bunch of jerks!
And this communists group they call a union will win. America is being run by hard core communists which have almost total power over us. America is almost finished and I doubt it will ever come back.
Homos and young boys; a recipe for rape. And now, these same homos are actually allowed to adopt boys condemning them to a childhood of sexual abuse and harassment.
The piece of human debris should just count themselves lucky they are not be executed, much less receive severance.
Fine, I’d give him the $10K. But since he ruined this girls life, he should receive his “reward” in a way that reminds him of that fact.
Estimated 75 year lifespan X 365 days = 27375
$10K/27375 - a little over 36 cents a day, $130 a year - prison wages, pretty much.
So give him his 36 cents a day, and maybe the selfish pr!ck will be reminded every day about the damage he caused.

I agree things are bad and it’s not getting any prettier. But America has a history of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. But more importantly, with God, nothing is impossible.
I’ll gladly donate one ready to fire rifle shell to his permanent retirement, no questions asked.
