George Orwell didn’t foresee the Internet. It’s possible that the (relatively unencumbered)Internet has delayed (note: DELAYED) his prediction of the future.
Orwell definitely got the year wrong. The government he described in 1984 has not come to pass yet in Western Europe and the U.S. But every year our country seem to get closer to the dystopia Orwell predicted.
