Are they trying to put the Russians on edge, cause the Russians to spy on Snowden or worse by putting this out there?

They have a reason for throwing this out there, I wish I could figure it out.

Obama thinks being anti-Russia is pro-USA. Don't forget, Obama has been totally embarrassed by the Russians...more than once.....

first, Obama told Russia to MYOB when we were informed about the Boston bombers. And we were told about them more than once.

Then there's the chem weapons in Syria...Russia got that done...not the USA. AND the USA NEVER could prove who "delivered" the chem weapons that killed so many. Russia had it right again...the USA should stop supporting the muzzie rebels...they're murdering Christians right and left.

Amnesty....Putin must be laughing...IMOW...Obama is a stupid man. We know he lies. His own people knows he lies. They will execute Snowden as soon as he steps out of Russia. He is safe here.
