The Chinese Space threat: A Clear and Present Danger

June 20, 2013

By JAVIER MANJARRES

Posey

How far has the U.S. space program fallen over the past five years? Well, let’s just say that the Chinese are now putting their best moon boot forward, as they gearing up to launch its first moon rover. Meanwhile, NASA has retired the shuttle fleet.

China has recently launched three of their astronauts that linked up to one of their prototype space stations, leaving some, including [Republican] Congressman Bill Posey wondering why they didn’t link up to the international space station.

We sat down with Posey, who sits on the Committee on Science, Space and Technology, in his Washington, D.C. office, where he expressed great disappointment with NASA’s diminished roll in space exploration, as well his concern over the potential Chinese threat from space.

"It's not where I wanted to be, its not where we should be. We were recognized as the leader in space. I don’t know that internationally, we are recognized as being the leader in space anymore. We can’t even launch our own astronauts"-Rep. Bill Posey

Posey added that the Russians and Chinese were looking to “colonize the moon,” and pointed out the military threat that China could pose to the U.S., if it is allowed to establish a significance space presence without any kind of U.S. deterrence.

One interesting point that Posey made was the fact that everything, I mean everything that operates in this technological and electronically driven world is in some way linked to satellites that are  roaming the earth’s orbit. According to Posey, there are currently about 34-36 satellites that make the use of bank ATM’s, cell phone service, TV reception, as well as other forms of communication, possible on a global level.

Posey believes that if 6-8 of these satellites are “taken out” by a hostile China,  the end result would be “the equivalence of the second after,” and many lines of worldwide communications would be compromised. ..."

Posey concluded by saying that developing and expanding the U.S. space program should be considered to be about national security and the survival of the species.

2008 Pentagon Report (March 2008):
China's Growing Military Space Power

By Leonard David
Special Correspondent, SPACE.com
March 6, 2008

GOLDEN, Colorado — A just-released Pentagon report spotlights a growing U.S. military concern that China is developing a multi- dimensional program to limit or prevent the use of space-based assets by its potential adversaries during times of crisis or conflict.

Furthermore, last year's successful test by China of a direct-ascent, anti-satellite (ASAT) weapon to destroy its own defunct weather satellite, the report adds, underscores that country's expansion from the land, air, and sea dimensions of the traditional battlefield into the space and cyber-space domains.

Although China's commercial space program has utility for non- military research, that capability demonstrates space launch and control know-how that have direct military application. Even the Chang'e 1 — the Chinese lunar probe now circling the Moon — is flagged in the report as showcasing China's ability "to conduct complicated space maneuvers — a capability which has broad implications for military counterspace operations."

On a visit to the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2005, Jackson Lee made embarrassing news by asking if the Mars Pathfinder had taken an image of the flag planted there in 1969 by Neil Armstrong.[2]

Prior to the 110th Congress, Jackson Lee served on the House Science Committee and on the Subcommittee that oversees space policy and NASA.

“We can’t even launch our own astronauts.”

A big thank you to all of those brilliant, really-really smart, intellectual, Progressive geniuses out there in the electorate who think they have all the answers and who also think that they’re brilliant, really-really smart, intellectual, Progressive geniuses.

A lot of what these slime ball democrats do is intentional. Obama and his ilk are out to undermine the military. To set the stage for the Russians and ChiComs to surpass us.

Oh fiddle de dee. The Chinese are invading the moon, our fine, our noble possession.

Next thing you know they’ll be towing it off for some nefarious purpose and we gonna be left in the dark.

Either that or they’ll maybe just turn the moon off. Evil, evil, evil.

China’s announcement of a Space Area Identification Defense Zone With Hazardous Operations (SAIDZWHO) that covers substantial portions of the Lunar envelope above China extending 232,000 miles to the moon and beyond. All spacecraft entering this defense zone must ask permission from Bejing for directions and fly-by commands. All spacecraft entering said zone with identification verified by must have Kung Pao chicken on-board cuisine at all times

I was referring to their intentionally trying to tear down America. This has been a goal of the communist left for a very long time.

Are you a supporter of the ChiComs?

Nope, not at all.

I just think there's some humor in the situation.

There are lots of things out there that are funny. I don’t see what’s happening to our country under Obama as one of them.

For gosh sakes, they landed a ROVER.

And that courtesy of Bill Clinton and his Department of Commerce and a guidance system.
