ACA is a brand new monster that we have about one more year to kill. It doesn't inspire confidence to have our representatives signing up for it.

To begin with, don't take my comment as any sign of support for Rubio, he is dead to me after his immigration screw-up. I just think it's unreasonable to expect people to forego legal financial breaks.

I've always thought the mortgage interest deduction to be poor policy. It skews the housing market, props up interest rates beyond what they'd be, and is unfair to people who choose to rent. Nonetheless, I always took it when I was paying a mortgage.

I didn't think I needed to put myself in worse financial shape than others did while we debated the merits of the deduction, itself.
