Ours went up 25%. Insurance rep explained that part of the increase was due to five new taxes imposed by Obamacare.

I can't believe the public at large is allowing this.

Those of us who actually read the bill knew of this three years ago.

I can’t believe the insurance companies aren’t making sure their customers are aware of this fact. Were they threatened? (redundant question)

My employer goes July-to-June for health insurance, so we’re already locked in until next July, but having heard our HR folks talk in the break room, our very liberal company is about to be completely flabbergasted by the rate hikes next year.

They called me Chicken Little. I can’t wait for the apologies.

If the company is liberal, I’m sure they’ll be happy to load any increased costs on the employees and blame the insurance company.

I’m blessed to work for a large company based in Canada. They went ahead and implemented the changes this past January so our rates went up quite a bit in 2013. Because of that they only went up slightly this year, but I feel for those who aren’t as lucky. What a freaking mess! Problem in the majority of Obama voters won’t be affected as they are already on welfare or medicare or whatever. They don’t care what happens to those of us who actually pay into the system.

We were told about 4 months ago to expect a 30% increase in our premium. Our company worked it down to 25%. On top of THAT, we drop from a 90/10 coverage plan to an 80/20 plan. So the amount I get billed after insurance is going to double.

I think there is a billy making it illegal for insurance companies to reveal that cancellations and rate increases and higher max out of pocket are caused by democRatcare.

I have been with my company for five years. Our insurance rates have increased every year at a rate of about 15-20%. And every year our company has incurred these increases without affecting us employees.

Except THIS YEAR! This year our rates went up 47%! Our company still incurred the BULK of this increase, but I expect that the rates will continue to increase but the company will not be able to continually eat these without some employee layoffs and/or other measures!

That would be nice, but knowing liberals they will be calling you an asshole for not speaking up louder and fighting harder to let them know what was in this 'terrible' bill!!

Lord knows that seems to be their mentality...saving them from themselves..

My son in law works in the Boston area for the Dutch company ING, one of the largest companies in the world.
ING owns several Insurance companies amongst other things.

His rate went from $350/month to $750/month and his deductible went from $2,000 to $5,000. -Tom

It’s got to happen. There are millions of company-provided plans about to get the axe next year.

The Administration already has their list of people to blame.

Your post is one day late. Jay Carney has already started saying that exact thing.

I simply do not know how some people can absorb that cost, and go so meekly to the slaughter, he must have a hefty take home salary, but still

apparently Obama is deluded and thinks everyone except his peeps has a lot of extra money they don’t need

Good Lord! My company owns many insurance companies as well, but NOT HEALTH CARE related. Fire/Home/Auto/major marine/bail bonds, etc. What I have noticed is we are currently buying up many, small insurance companies and they are letting almost all of the workers go, but we get the extra work with no new employees. Not complaining though. I stay very, busy and have a job w/ good insurance. Good enough these days.
