Cancer or not, cold or not, what is wrong with putting on a beanie, whether you are getting ready to leave or not at this restaurant?
Morton throwing a few paltry dollars to the cancer hospital would not make this go away for me easily.

You can put money on it that if it was a headscarf no one would have said a thing.

Except maybe that manager would have asked the guy to bring a note from his Inman proving his religion?

More a problem about Restaurant etiquette than anything else. They were wrong on all counts. This shows much more than an episode about cancer patients.

Folks should consider this when eating out. Seems things have only gotten worse in the last few years.

The news is broadcast in several languages at once.

Whereas my heart strings can be pulled for a cancer patient too, private establishments are permitted their own dress codes. Men will remove their hats when in service at the church I attend, cancer or not. Those too unhealthy to comply (or too vain to comply) may certainly request a pastoral visit at a place of their choosing. It's a slippery slope once patrons are allowed to dictate policy.

Does your church have a specific, written dress code that says this?

Really?

What denomination?

I’ve eaten in that specific Morton’s several times...never again, until I hear that there is new management.

RE :”Everything is Breaking News if you are a Drama Queen.”

If a restaurant can kick someone out for refusing to take off a beanie then the end of the days are near.

Dress codes today
Death camps tomorrow.

Man this is fun

This wasn’t church.

The restaurant certainly has the right to have a dress code, but they should post it before asking someone to leave because of it.

This was extremely poor behavior on the part of the restaurant.

Go to the SPJST dance hall south of Temple, Texas for some honky-tonkin’ and you will not be allowed in with a cowboy hat. Too many fights are started by people touching someone else’s hat.

As for a restaurant, I think they went way too far.

Should never have gotten that far. Either a Maitre d’ or hostess should have informed the diner that his attire was inappropriate long before he was seated.
