Record High in U.S. Say Big Government Greatest Threat

Now 72% say it is greater threat than big business or big labor

PRINCETON, NJ -- Seventy-two percent of Americans say big government is a greater threat to the U.S. in the future than is big business or big labor, a record high in the nearly 50-year history of this question. The prior high for big government was 65% in 1999 and 2000. Big government has always topped big business and big labor, including in the initial asking in 1965, but just 35% named it at that time.

IMO, This is what Republicans and Tea Party candidates need to focus on.

This is a winning issue.

NSA

The Republican Party doesn’t have any interest in smaller government as far I can tell.

They are only interested PRIOR to being elected.

“The Republican Party doesn’t have any interest in smaller government as far I can tell.”

True.

Also, did you notice how the perception of big government as a threat tends to track the size of government? No inverse relationship there!

The Tea Party does do this, the GOP will never focus on it, because they ARE those things too, just to a little bit lesser degree.

Also, no crap big government should be seen as a threat. What other entity on the face of this earth has caused more man made death, war and destruction than big out of control governments?

The left always rambles on about religion causing most of the war and conflict in the world, and it does to a degree. Nothing compares to the outright destruction and murder committed by government though..from communism to fascism.

I agree. Focus on getting the government out of our lives, and stand back and watch the votes roll in!

The Republican Party in the House voted to fund ObamaCare for 2 more years, raises taxes and spending. They have done little to nothing about the IRS and NSA, although one or two members might squawk here and there and Issa holds a completely pointless hearing.

These might be winning issues if the Republican Party wasn’t holding hands with the Democrats on them.

The RINOs in charge campaign as conservatives but govern as the Party of Greed. They're all for government control of things as long as it all filters through corporations and they get their profits. ObamaCare has made that abundantly clear.

The invasion began years ago, a GUbamint overrun by bureaucrats and career criminals uhhh Representatives, thousands of unelected officials, enough regulatory agencies to smother growth regardless of the faulty sciences applied or fictitious studies passed off as solid science and research.

From our institutions of higher learning all the way down to the pre-kindergarden crowd, they got ya covered, like a wet rag with fantasy and fiction passed off as history, and parents no longer needed to teach their kids right from wrong.

Oh yeah, it began a long time ago,,

Who do you trust- “Big Business” who WANTS and NEEDS you as a customer, or Big Government - which is run by affirmative action bureaucrat hires, and/or because their cousin Jeffrey works there.

The Affirmative action hires are now more than double the percentage of general population.

What I find very interesting is how the Dems and obama, who have historically relied on polls when making policy, are ignoring these trends.

They have resorted to PR all the time in order to convince the public via their media sycophants that everything is great.
