The Obama administration is planning to allow individuals whose health insurance was cancelled under ObamaCare to buy catastrophic plans once intended mainly for young people.
Under the plan, individuals who are unable to renew their current health insurance will be able to purchase bare-bones coverage, according to a source connected with the health industry.
Current rules say that to qualify for a catastrophic plan, individuals must be either under 30 or qualify for a "hardship" exemption. The Obama administration's new guidance will argue that individuals whose 2013 plans were canceled and who determine that other options are not affordable should be able to purchase bare-bones coverage.

More chaos!
Rewriting the law......again!
Doesn't being a citizen of the US under the Obama presidency automatically count as a hardship?
The federal government is an unlawful and criminal organization. Rule by executive fiat, a dictatorship, will not end well.
You have to pass it to find out what’s in it.
Of course what was in it yesterday may not be in it today,
The fugging thing changes daily, It isn’t a law it’s a jigsaw puzzle with a carving knife used to make the pieces fit.
“Desperation!
More chaos!
Rewriting the law......again”
Chaos is exactly right. They want these insurance companies to turn on a dime and put out a bare bones plan overnight. This is just ludicrous.
This law is invalid anymore. It’s been reworked so much it doesn’t even resemble the original signed into law.
It should be thrown out, and the people relieved of the illegal obligation, but then that should apply to the President as well.
I think it’s a backdoor way to suck the under-30s into the system and trap them there.
The “law” is whatever Emperor Obama deems it to be at the moment.
Make everyone who was affected, whole. Take the monies needed from the still unspent slush fund that was TARP.
Allow Federal income tax deductions for health insurance, just like property taxes and state income taxes.
Good catch - Man, Sean is gonna be busy on his show tonight
Mods, could we move this to Breaking News?

The man is a genius!
He is the premier “Jackass Savant” of our lifetime.
Good grief libs, get a damn clue for once in your life.
Actually, this is nothing new. He is just nmaking more fake news to try to look good. But, it is already written into the Unaffordable Care Act that those under 30 and those whose premiums would be more than 8% of one’s income are eligible for catastrophic policies. However, since I fall into the latter category, I explained this to the insurance company (Coventry One) from whom I hoped to buy insurance. They were clueless, and had no idea that a catastrophic policy was supposed to be one of my options. Of course, silly me, I was dealing directly with an insurance company, not going onto the government website. I’m sure THAT would have solved the problem! LOL
Of course, even the bare bones plans require contraception coverage.
Yet another ‘fix’?
Just scrap it. Kill it off. Get rid of it.
And, get FedGov out of the doctor’s office, and our back pockets.
Apparently they made this announcement via blog post. Talking about it now on Megyn Kelly.
4 days to go and Obama tosses a Hail Mary.
“Bare-bone catastrophic coverage” = exemption from complying with Obamacare for everyone who lost their insurance. All you have to do is say you can’t afford the “affordable” plan and you can have the crappy plan.
And who says these crappy plans are any more “affordable”? More kabuki theater, more lies, and more incompetence from the Obamanation.
Making it up as they go.
The Won is off to Hawaii tomorrow — will he give a press conference Friday? Or just sneak out of town with his 500 person entourage.
“The federal government is an unlawful and criminal organization. Rule by executive fiat, a dictatorship, will not end well.”
Just wanted to re-make your point.
