That is (or was - it’s been raised to 16) is the legal age of consent for sexual relations, and there are a number of restrictions regarding relationships where the older person is in a position of power or influence, for example teachers, Scout leaders, etc.
I don’t know if that means we are now in the same absurd position as some US states where two 15 year olds having consensual sex could both be charged with statutory rape (or something similar), or a 16 year old sleeping with their 15 year old boy/girl friend faces being declared a sex offender for life.
In most of the US the age of consent is 16, but I think a few are still 14.
