PETA: Ignore Sarah Palin's Defense, Cancel Duck Dynasty
Breitbart's Big Hollywood ^ | December 19, 2013 | Tony Lee

Posted on 12/20/2013 5:51:08 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

On Thursday, PETA called for the cancellation of Duck Dynasty, one of the most highly-rated shows ever, a day after A&E suspended patriarch Phil Robertson for comments that were deemed to be "anti-gay."

PETA, which has a history of slamming the show's cast members for hunting, accused the Duck Dynasty cast of "hating people and animals" and called on A&E to ignore former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's Facebook post that said Robertson's suspension was an attack on "all of us" because "free speech is an endangered species."

"PETA wants A&E to do more than suspend one of the characters on Duck Dynasty for damning gays. We call on the channel to challenge the entire crew of duck slayers to ignore Sarah Palin’s self-serving slap on the back for spewing hate speech and deny that they are as anti-gay as they are anti-animal," the organization said in a statement. "All people who consider themselves followers of Christ should follow all His teachings—and that includes showing mercy, compassion, and kindness to all of God’s creation, human and nonhuman alike. What’s ‘sinful’ is hating people and animals. PETA asks everyone who consider themselves to be Christian to reject hate speech and call for this show’s cancellation."

Palin emphasized shortly after Robertson's suspension was announced that the "intolerants" targeting Robertson were attacking all Americans who value free speech. "Free speech is an endangered species," Palin said on Wednesday. "Those 'intolerants' hatin’ and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us." Breitbart News Editor-at-Large John Nolte has emphasized that Robertson was explicitly "talking about homosexual sexual behavior, not homosexuals as human beings. That is all the difference in the world."(continued)

Here are two jokes one can no longer tell on American television. But you can still find them in the archives, out on the edge of town, in Sub-Basement Level 12 of the ever-expanding Smithsonian Mausoleum of the Unsayable. First, Bob Hope, touring the world in the year or so after the passage of the 1975 Consenting Adult Sex Bill:

“I’ve just flown in from California, where they’ve made homosexuality legal. I thought I’d get out before they make it compulsory.”

For Hope, this was an oddly profound gag, discerning even at the dawn of the Age of Tolerance that there was something inherently coercive about the enterprise. Soon it would be insufficient merely to be “tolerant” — warily accepting, blithely indifferent, mildly amused, tepidly supportive, according to taste. The forces of “tolerance” would become intolerant of anything less than full-blown celebratory approval.

Second joke from the archives: Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra kept this one in the act for a quarter-century. On stage, Dino used to have a bit of business where he’d refill his tumbler and ask Frank, “How do you make a fruit cordial?” And Sinatra would respond, “I dunno. How do you make a fruit cordial?” And Dean would say, “Be nice to him.”

God gave us dominion over the animals.

The Robertson's haven't killed as many animals that PETA has.

Avatar no longer posted to protest one of A&E's parent companies

PETA is worthless. I recently emailed them about the bald eagles being killed by wind farms. Their response?

Thank you for contacting PETA. We appreciate the time you took to share this with us, and it has been passed along to the appropriate staff members here.

PETA values feedback and input—from comments, suggestions, and inquiries to cruelty notifications, news stories, and requests for information.

PETA recently released the following media statement on this issue:

The eagles will pay the ultimate price—with their lives—in this latest federal concession to industry and disregard for the wishes of more than 100 conservation and animal-protection groups, including PETA. Some bird species have learned to avoid the turbines, but eagles have not, and perhaps selling them down the river for the sake of corporate profit can be seen as a symbol of things that are not right with our country’s policies on a larger scale.

The following are a few links to information on even more ways to save the animals who so desperately need the help of compassionate people like you:

· Tips for getting active for animals: http://www.PETA.org/action/default.aspx
· Protect animal companions: http://www.PETA.org/issues/companion-animals/default.aspx
· End cruel and unnecessary experiments on animals: http://www.PETA.org/issues/animals-used-for-experimentation/default.aspx
· Fight fur cruelty: http://www.PETA.org/issues/animals-used-for-clothing/animals-used-for-fur.aspx
· Help animals by eating delicious vegan food: http://www.PETA.org/issues/animals-used-for-food/default.aspx
· Save animals’ lives through everyday choices: http://www.PETA.org/living/default.aspx

Thanks again for writing and for everything that you do to help animals. Your letters and actions save lives!

Sincerely,

The PETA Staff

The Free Government Cash coalition is huge - and unlikely to let any philosophical differences get in the way of all that money. PETA can be gay; global warmists can be Black (tm); feminists can moonlight as Wahhabists - any Leftist will believe anything they have to to support Team Rip Off the White Middle Class Taxpayer.
