It might be quicker and easier to draw up a list of people who haven’t been bullied.

Sadly, there is a double meaning. The "no bullying" signs mean that students who identify as GiBLeTs are protected. Anyone else is fair game.

But, unlike the days where there were some kids who would beat a kid up, you knew who they were and either avoided or confronted them.

Now the crap travels at the speed of facebook aps on cell phones, and the sheer volume, vitriol, and polarity against an individual started by one puke with a snarky rumor can be amazing.

Imagine walking into a room full of people (many you barely know) and having them all hate you over something you do not even know you have been accused of.

I say that as a kid who went through years of crap in school before I learned to fight, and through race riots as well (in school).

While that made me tougher, that was in the days where at least some of the kids thought for themselves, and when you were better allowed to confront an accuser and sort things out.

Exactly. Everyone gets bullied at one time or another throughout their lives but it hasn't been until recently that, instead of settling it between the two involved, we're now taking it out on everyone else. I don't recall ever hearing about a school shooting when I was growing and certainly no school was bulldozed for it. From a search, it appears from the 1700s to about 1900, you could count the number of school shootings on one hand. The number of incidents greatly increased around the turn of the century but were still rare. They slowly increased through the 1900s but have exploded in recent years. It's my belief it is a result of poor parenting and a breakdown of social morals. Humankind is fast slipping down the hill and gaining speed.
