There’s something called steely resolve that has been part of everything major ever accomplished in world history. - and it would not fall under either your rah rah choice or Coach Collin’s defeatism.

Truman was President when I was born. Perhaps during the Eisenhower and Reagan Administrations did I see that “steely resolve.” But, only from a few. It would be nice to see it again before I’m flaccid and toothless!
