CB has been beaten up hard in the past by GLAAD, the NCAAP and others over alleged practices. Disgusting organizations like those can bring an organized negative campaign to bear that gets picked up and spread by the media. Next thing you know, they take a hit where it matters most —$$$
Hoping to avoid any negativity, CB made an ambiguous statement, took only select items off its shelves and hoped to split the baby down the middle and keep both sides happy.
It didn’t work. They quickly found out their hillbilly consumers are bit more savvy than originally thought and that they would quickly go under without their primary customers — middle America.
They apologized, put Phil’s merchandise back on the shelves and, hopefully, will learn a lesson. They have my business again.
