I just heard a discussion on Fox news - they are just playing small-ball, refusing to address the larger issue behind this whole “mess”. And that is a redefinition of moral standards in America. He is in trouble for saying something that would have been accepted a common sense 50 years ago, and still is (I believe) for most Americans not on the edge coasts. And these folks finally have something to rally around and so “no!”
I think it is as simple as that - the real question is where does it go from here.

A&E and GLADD at a 3AM phone call decided to suspend Phil.. Why was GLAAD even in on a 3AM morning call with A&E.

Where it goes from here, IMHO, is for people to start remembering their rights. The “freedom of speech” defense will be used a lot more often, to the detriment of so-called “hate speech” rules. (Read the Fourth Amendment in the Bill of Rights then try reading any story about the NSA scandal.)
