Alumni, Parents Fight to Get Gay Administrator's Catholic School Job Back Dec. 22, 2013

Alumni, students and parents from a Seattle Catholic school are fighting to have a revered vice principal reinstated, after school officials discovered his marriage to another man.
Supporters of Mark Zmuda vowed to pull funds from Eastside Catholic High School, after the school sent out a letter announcing he had resigned and calling his marriage a violation of his contract, which requires a strict adherence to a Catholic code.
"Shame on you!" wrote a passionate alumnus on the Eastside Catholic High School Alumni Facebook page in response to the school's letter.
"Not only is this type of homophobic behavior completely antiquated, it sets a horrible example for all students present and past of tolerance and acceptance," Jessica Lesser from the class of 1994 wrote. "Our own pope has a very different message for our Church: 'If someone is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?' - Pope Francis."
Florence Colburn, whose son -- who she called "politically astute" -- instigated the school-wide rally protesting Zmuda's dismissal, has retracted contributions to the school and says her daughter, a sophomore, is questioning whether she wants to enroll there next year.
"We have been at the school for seven years, and by far [Mark] is the best administrator that I've ever seen there," Colburn told ABC News. "As a mentor, and a coach, and a colleague, and a human being, there's not a better person. I think that's why uproar was so fast and furious. There's nothing anyone can reproach this man."
Colburn says many of the families have chosen to enroll their kids in the 600-student Catholic high school for the academics, not necessarily for the religious education.

The Pope wasn't talking about people who publicly defy Church teaching, but who are living with same-sex attraction. This person hasn't studied much of what Pope Francis did before becoming Pope. He actively fought against a homosexual marriage measure in Argentina, and was helped by some, who though homosexual themselves, didn't agree with the activists who were looking to destroy marriage.
And as we have seen, these people are the most intolerant and unaccepting of deviation when they are in power. Just ask the Duck Dynasty guy.

This is why it is important for the pope to be circumspect in the words he uses. His careless language has set Catholic catechesis back 50 years. He clumsily gave license to the enemies of Christ.
Tempted to agree here. Dan Henninger (WSJ) was right on this, I think. He called Francis an “intern” pope—so far. Unlike John Paul and Benedict, this one has had no real media workouts. So I guess my only correction to your “careless” claim is the substitution of “thoughtless.” He’s a naif.

Parents were happy campers about their little kids being programmed into Marxist ideology although they thought it was just a regular education. It may not be an accident. In reading Fr. Oko’s report on Homoheresy-—there is an internal war inside the Vatican. It is the “homomafia” trying to destroy the Catholic Church from within.
The infiltration according to Bella Dodd was severe in the 30’s and 40’s and Vatican II was the takeover-— a set up to allow heresy and errors by the boatload-—which it did.
We shall see what side this Pope Francis is on....in the meantime—I shall eat my popcorn and wait for his purge of all the pseudo-bishops and pseudo-cardinals who infested the church to destroy her from within.

I once attended a Catholic School and as a Protestant I couldn’t take communion. Did I protest, no cause it was a Catholic school!

A school with good academics will have no problem filling those seats... funny premise though.
So many confused people. People who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ ought to remember how much he suffered for our many sins. Their phony sympathy for an unrepentant sinner is ill-founded. Either they are with Jesus or they are against Him. False allegiance to the sinful actions of any person is not being a good Christian.
Sigh. So much ‘tolerance’, and so little genuine concern for his soul.
