GLAAD says they have never gotten more angry phone calls and emails than they have since they decided to launch their attack on Phil Robertson, and escalated their speech and thought war against Christians at the same time.
But Yahoo reports that they’re not apt to learn anything. The group still wants to re-educate Phil Robertson.
After the meeting (between A&E executives and GLAAD), GLAAD issued its statement on Robertson’s comments. A&E initially released a statement from Robertson in which he said he would “never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me.” But the network declined to comment itself until Wednesday night, when it announced the suspension, which GLAAD applauded.
“We believe the next step is to use this as an opportunity for Phil to sit down with gay families in Louisiana and learn about their lives and the values they share,” the spokesman said.
The organization is also currently researching companies who use Robertson as a spokesperson.
There is no veil over that threat: GLAAD still wants Robertson to do exactly what they say, or they will try to deprive Robertson and his family of their livelihood. GLAAD would be called a McCarthyist group if they weren’t among the media’s favorite go-to activist cells. GLAAD has no intention of meeting with the Christians it wants to persecute.
GLAAD’s a strategy that is bound to fail. They made the classic mistake of overreaching (cf. Napoleon’s invasion of Russia).
Two of Duck Dynasty’s sponsors, Under Armor and Skyjacker, have already said they’re sticking with the show. Cracker Barrel, on the other hand, may have forgotten who its customers are. The Robertsons’ home town is solidly behind the family. Walmart and Academy, two of the Duck Commander/DD brands’ largest outlets, show no sign of dropping either. The merch is flying off the shelves. GLAAD’s overreach has made them subjects of mockery and derision, not fear. A&E now looks duplicitous and cowardly, because they are, and the channel is likely to lose its most profitable show. Duck Dynasty could thrive on literally any broadcast outlet. The Robertsons, those rednecks that A&E’s suits expected to mock, don’t even need the show to remain rich. The swamp folks hold all the cards.
Amazing that GLAAD thinks Robertson needs to be “educated.” They simply cannot comprehend that many people consciously reject their behavior and no amount of “education” will change that. The stance of those who reject the homosexual agenda is well-considered and not at all based on ignorance but on quite the opposite.
Who are the leaders of GLAAD? They should be exposed, isolated, mocked and destroyed.
Remember how powerful Jesse Jackson was until someone of Wall Street finally decided to stand up to his shake downs? Jesse has all but disappeared. Phil has stood up to GLAAD and they too will crumble.

Make no mistake: the "education" they have in mind is actually the "re-education" practiced by the late, unlamented communist totalitarians. Their "education" is to sway those who are not committed to the ideal the educators are opposing.
Those who ARE committed to said ideals are bound for the gulags, or the wall.
That’s interesting about Cracker Barrel. I’ve never trusted their glad-handing, overly solicitous ways so I wasn’t at all surprised that they got cold feet. Good to know they are rethinking the situation.

Based on GLAAD’S kneejerk reaction, you would thing Phil Robertson was manufacturing Gay Commander “Gay Calls” for the Rednecks to use when hunting them.
BTW - The South has a very large Gay Population. The difference is, people just don’t care. The Gays I have met when visiting Relatives in Mississippi are very nice people. They don’t have the in your face (pardon the pun) attitude of the Liberal Gays on the East and Left Coasts, it’s everyone goes along to get along.
Not to be trite, but it’s the same with the Southern Black Population. Everyone gets along fine, as Phil made mention of when talking about his Childhood working the fields alongside Blacks. The Inner City Blacks and the rural Southern Blacks are completely different people from my experience.
The whole Gay issue is simply this, they expect everyone to “approve” of their lifestyle, while people who don’t usually “tolerate” their lifestyle. Tolerance isn’t good enough for them. They have a complete misunderstanding of “Freedom of Association”.
So they want to punish him still? He should tell them take a hike.

Exactly. It is because I am educated about that I reject gays as being normal. No amount of education will change my core beliefs. And I have a feeling it wouldn't change Phil's either.
I am advised that one local area ShopCo decided to reduce the price of all their DD stuff by 40% thinking that DD would “go south”. Stupid move? Yes, everything sold out pretty quickly but the area Walmart’s kept their price as listed and made a ton of money. Bad marketing decision on ShopCo’s part.

I don’t believe for a second anything gays say about how many angry calls they have received. These people have proven time and time again that they are liars who will create stories of persecution out of thin air in order to bring attention to themselves.
GLAAD is stupid and A&E is getting nervous because this firestorm is not going away and has escalated (thanks to the militant homo overreach). Phil Robertson and his family aren’t going to back down and they aren’t going to be intimidated by a bunch of ranting Nancy boys. The Robinson family doesn’t need A&E, but A&E needs the Robinsons.
