The story is admittedly dated...but Ann Coulter recently pointed to this column.
Her take: "A senator having an affair and breaking up a marriage & barely a word in the media? Guess the party."
I agree. Imagine a Republican of EITHER sex destroying a marriage. The media would've had a field day.

Met her 7 or so years ago. Pasty, clammy look to her. Skinny, hunched over. A real policy wonk type. Reminded me of the Faye Dunaway character in the film "Network".
Must be the power because it sure ain't the looks or charisma.

That’s because that sort of behavior is expected of Democrats. It’s routine, dog bites man, not newsworthy. They have no sexual morals or scruples so no one is shocked when they act like alley cats. Revealing this sort of scandal shocks no one, least of all their base.
Most Republicans, even RINOs, at least espouse some morality. Most try to live up to it. Therefore when they stumble, fail, or reveal themselves to be hypocrites it becomes newsworthy, at least to democrat members of the mainstream media (but I repeat myself). Plus it damages their standing with their base and their electoral competitiveness against democrats. That’s an added bonus.

Sexiest Senator in the land?
I guess if you compare her to McLame or Harry Reid.

Attractive in comparison to the usual liberal democrat woman in politics.

Only another democrat would consider her hot.
But it's not as if she had much competition.
