Why do Asian students do well and Latino students do poorly?

There's an acronym that's growing in usage among educators; NAM or "non-Asian minorities. It allows them to discuss the failings of "people of color" compared to their white counterparts while ignoring the success of other "people of color". It's very convenient.

I'm going to risk being very politically incorrect here. I live in SF, CA. Naturally, I see many Asians daily; in fact, the building I live in has a resident population that is majority Asian. I realized that many consider Asians as “people of color”, but after many years of contemplation, I cannot do so.
