I’m not at all familiar with the layout of the school, but I think it would have been fine to remodel to do away with, or dramatically change the areas where the killings occurred while leaving the rest of the school as is(was).
This is just a huge and expensive emotional reaction/overkill.
I'm sure the union-thug educRATs wanted a new facility.
You know: Never let a good crisis go to waste.
A lot of low income people would gladly have moved there, after about three years or so, if the place had been reconfigured. This could have been a Community Clinic area. I hate to doubt the veracity of something so tragic. Many people don’t believe the reports. I would never challenge the account from one of those grieving parents. The bottom result is their child is gone, and that fact is undisputable.

How utterly ridiculous. IMO it matters not what they build there or who occupies the space. It’s not about the brick and mortar of the structure. The events of that day will occupy history and memories for a long time, particularly in the hearts and minds of those families whose child was missing from their once joyous Christmas celebration.
They Should tear down Chicago
Looking at the picture there of the front of the school, something just occurred to me:
The classroom that he was in when police arrived had a full panel of glass windows facing the parking lot.
They didn’t necessarily have to go into the school to shoot him. They could have shot him through the windows.
Indeed. I recall a McDonalds where a massacre took place that was subsequently leveled. A place where horrific crimes took place is usually not a place where humans wish to live or interact.
Why in the world would it cost 50 million to rebuild one school?
It cost 197 million to build the high school a couple of my grandchildren attend.

While the bricks and mortar may be gone, the spirit of Sandy Hook lives on in every school in the nation that bans citizens from carrying guns for self-defense. Tear that legacy down, Mr. President. Make Sandy Hook the last one of its kind.
I believe they tore down the Schoolhouse where the Amish Children were murdered.

Only the Government could spend more money that a building is worth to destroy it.
