The GOP controlled Congress during most of the period from 1994 to 2006. Bush doubled the national debt during his 8 years. Both parties are hooked on big government and big spending. Bush added the Prescription Drug Progam, another entitlement that represents an unfunded liability of over $7 trillion.
Stop posting? Unless we can come to grips with a problem and identify it, we will never win. The demographics of this country are changing rapidly. In 1970 one in 21 was foreign-born; today it is one in 8, the highest in over 90 years, and within a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history.
We bring in 1.2 million legal immigrants a year, 87% of whom are minorities as classified by the USG. Immigrants and minorities vote more than two to one Dem. The Senate Gang of 8 bill supported by 14 Reps will bring in 33 million legal immigrants over the next decade, almost three times what we brought in during the decade ending in 2010, which was the highest decade of immigration in US history. And the bill will double the guest worker program to 1.4 million a year. This is at a time when over 20 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed.
Boehner and Cantor want to pass immigration reform next year including a GOP version of the Dream Act, an increased guest worker program, and a phony border security bill. This will go to conference with the Senate Gang of 8 bill and we will have an amnesty.
We should be pushing for a moratorium on legal immigration--about 250,000 a year. This will HELP the GOP, American workers, and the country.
