I was surprised to read that only 61.2% of homosexual men had engaged in anal sex.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), from 1994 to 1997 the proportion of homosexuals reporting having had anal sex increased from 57.6 percent to 61.2 percent, while the percentage of those reporting "always" using condoms declined from 69.6 percent to 60 percent.[2]

At first glance that struck me as a typo with a word left out; For example "...having had UNPROTECTED' anal sex..."

Obviously, that's just conjecture. Another possibility would be lack of honesty by those homosexuals reporting. But, perhaps there is an entire group that doesn't receive anal sex but only gives anal sex.
