Hospital Bans Christmas Carolers From Singing Religious Songs
Atlanta CBS ^ | 26 Dec 2013

AUGUSTA, Ga. (CBS Atlanta) – An Augusta hospital has adopted a new policy banning Christmas carolers from singing religious songs in public patient areas. The Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center announced the new policy Monday according to the Athens-Banner Herald. “Military service veterans, male and female, represent people of all faiths,” hospital spokesman Brian Rothwell said in a statement according to Athens-Banner Herald. “It is out of respect for every faith that The Veterans Administration gives clear guidance on what ‘spiritual care’ is to be given and who is to give it.”

A group of high school students from Augusta’s Alleluia Community School were prevented from singing traditional holiday songs that honor and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ to veterans by the medical center last week. The school principal, Dan Funsch, told the newspaper that he was disappointed that the Veterans Affairs hospital’s “spiritual care” grants holiday exemption only to secular characters that make up the 12 Days of Christmas. “This is not a religious proselytizing, evangelistic issue,” Funsch explained, arguing that Christmas songs are broadcast during the holidays on area radio stations and in local retail outlets. “The song Joy to the World is as much a part of the holiday spirit as the Christmas tree.” The principal noted that the peculiar part of the policy is its recent enforcement.

Here’s what he really said.”It’s out of respect for all religions” EXCEPT CHRISTIANITY. All those other religious holidays that fall this time of year are irrelevant or bogus. No big deal was made out Hanuka until the 196o’s and Ramadan is a recently (45 yrs) made up Phony “religion”

I would support a mass mutiny of religious military over this issue alone

The only military people allowed to openly display discontent are the homosexuals. Remember when they flaunted their homosexuality while in uniform, in FRONT OF THE PENTAGON and were not disciplined at all.

Nope, Obambi's military can praise allah, homosexuals, and other depravity, but they'd never be able to show Christian mutiny or unity.

I noticed how they have removed our carols from the public square in addition to replacing the word “Christmas” with their generic “holiday” references over the past eight or nine years. We played the whole lot of them the last couple of days. Was wonderful to hear Bing crooning “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”

Do these fools actually think that they can take God out of everything

Yes, they do, and, they can. For awhile.

Gen 6:5-7: And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

As time goes on, Truth becomes a disposable commodity to countries that God has blessed the most. Only He knows when, but He'll not tolerate it indefinitely. He's already warned us. But the warnings are about as effective, it seems, as Noah trying to warn his contemporaries.

I am all for Christians taking back Christmas celebrations behinds our own doors

Let the public rot their ears with Frosty the Snowman and Paul McCartney’s mawkish elevator music. Parents, why bother attending or sending your kids to participate in school concerts and public celebrations of a holiday-that-must-not be-named.

Just say no thanks, tell the schools the kids are opting out of the “winter concerts” this year because Christians find censorship of our religion to be disrespectful and intolerant and confusing to our children, as if our religion was “offensive”.

We are celebrating Christmas at home or at church this year. But the church doors are open, and all are welcome to come share Christmas music

there are no Kwanzaa carols... Tanzanians engaging in the communal harvest don’t sing Swahili carols as they root up tubers with sticks

DoD’s new policy is radical secularism. Are we surprised that VA trails along?

Unfortunately there are. The last straw that made us quit going to our Community Chorus Christmas was the year they had this big, old white dude on stage singing “I’m a Child of Kwanzaa”. Not called for and more than a little creepy.

The whole pattern is that at the top levels the government will relent to popular pressure. (The usual excuse is "I wasn't informed until I heard it in the news")

The real problem we are facing is that we have so many self-important petty tyrants in the middle levels of the government bureaucracy. We have a true soviet system in operation.

Jesus is coming back (soon IMHO), and I suspect He’s gonna be cranky with these twits.

Every Christian should withdraw donations and volunteer service from any VA facility with this stupid policy. Let the government arrange for State sanctioned mantras praising the godless state. Any Christian hospital volunteer should walk.

I recommend the opposite of what you’re suggesting.
