Apples and Oranges, I'll give you that. But what I won't give you is dissent about overarching government solutions versus the private sector.
ObamaCare is the socialist idea of government healthcare versus private sector answers. And by that I mean a truly unfettered private sector. Not the faux 'capitalism' practiced and protected today by an unbelievable goat cluster assembly of Rules, Regulations and Law seemingly in place to prevent capitalist competition. Competition, the engine, frame, suspension, bolts and bearings of Capitalism.
This Christmas season UPS and Federal Express are enduring some bad press for missed or late deliveries. Quite the scolding going on the mainstream press. Who've never worked a day like these two do.
[snip]
These two companies may have their warts and problems but let's compare the staggering size of the federal government, the government's freedom to lavish unlimited dollars on whatever they perceive to be a problem, and the number of people they can shove into a battle. That's actually the problem, this mindset that throwing people and money at a problem will magically result in an answer. Free enterprise companies have to think their way through problems while balancing the limits of capitalization, incomes, demands and systems. Often, more money is the worst way to proceed. The way to success is almost always in correctly thinking about the real problem.
It's no contest. FEDEX and UPS win this comparison round something like $162 billion to nothing. Obamacare can't find its way to a bathroom with both hands and a roadmap, let alone bring the level of care and management exhibited by package delivery systems to a tonsillectomy.

I am disappointed to learn that so many consumers in Connecticut and across the country made purchases this holiday season expecting their gifts to arrive in time for Christmas, but instead were left empty-handed, Blumenthal said in a statement.
I call on UPS to do the right thing and provide refunds to people whose Christmases were a little less cheery as a result of their late deliveries.........
364 days till Christmas.
We have ways to get around UPS and FedEx...go shop at Brick n Mortar stores.
We have no way around ObamaCare...our only option is wasting their time pushing Illegal Alien Amnesty instead of ridding ObamaCare...talking bout you GOP
But... but Obama said the “million” who rushed to get his healthcare (as the closing deadline loomed on a compulsory, government dictated product that everyone depends upon) PROVES that people WANT it.
It’s a mandated government program (with attached fines and run by the IRS) so that you and your family can see a doctor — and Obama just crowed that because Americans are signing up it proves that they WANT it.
How can you argue with “logic” like that? Especially when it’s parroted by compliant state media and no one laughs out loud or pulls out their hair while screaming on camera.
Some idiot here at FR posted the other day that he was glad the USPS is an alternative to UPS and FedEx.
The USPS loses billions of taxpayer dollars per quarter. For that amount of money UPS/FedEx could double the size of their fleets and double the workers they employ now!
Oh and don’t forget the USPS contracts out lower priority mail delivery to, you guessed it, the more efficient UPS and FedEx.
Is Blumenthal going to request that the power companies “compensate” those affected by the recent storms as well?
In Maryland when the power goes out (as it regularly does in even a slight breeze due to all the trees over growing power lines, etc) the customers must prop up the utility (let the utility recoup money lost to them from outages) with fees added to customers’ bills.
Amazon’s Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post and is using the USPS for Sunday Amazon deliveries (an Amazon premium option).
I bet Amazon (Bezos) is the Left’s BFF.
He shouldn’t have to. Power companies in NJ credited the 8 days without power with one phone call.
/but that was only after turning away non-union help from Alabama. (another urban legend. I personally watched workers in trucks with Alabama plates restore our power.)
Trucks are not workers. Just sayin'.
8-:)
They wuz drinking “Co-cola” ( ‘ceptin’ those drinking R.C. or Mr. Pibb) and eating Moon Pies.
They wuz also talkin’ real slow and funny.
LOL
“Odumbocare”....with the introduction and implimentation of this trainwreck, can any of us wonder why America is so screwed up?
When and if you ever here, “I’m from teh goverment and here to help you”, RUN!.
There is no way to compare the gubmint with UPS and FedEx.
Gubmnit has unlimited amounts of money they DO NOT have to account for because there is no “Profit vs Loss” requirement in their vocabulary. The gubmint should be run as good as the other two and perhaps we MAY have a chance of survival.......I’m not holding my breath.
Blumenthal: I call on UPS to do the right thing....”
Blumenthal? Stolen Valor Blumenthal? Calling on someone ELSE to “do the right thing?”
*snort*
Bump!
The press is lumping FEDEX in with the UPS failure. UPS had a major failure at it’s hub in Louisville. Plane loads of packages that never made it out. There was no such failure for FEDEX. UPS has a smaller lift capacity vs. Fedex. They likely ran out of planes, or flight crew with hours left to work, or containers with which to load freight onto aircraft. The CNBC chatter on this subject today is inane.
